How much water should I drink per day?
The general guideline is roughly half your body weight in ounces (e.g. a 160 lb person should aim for ~80 oz). However, actual needs vary significantly based on activity level, climate, altitude, diet, and individual physiology. Active people in hot climates may need 50-100% more than sedentary individuals in temperate conditions.
Does coffee and tea count toward water intake?
Yes. While caffeine has a mild diuretic effect, research shows that caffeinated beverages still contribute a net positive to hydration.
