Oura's Readiness Score is built from 9 contributing factors: resting heart rate, HRV balance, body temperature, recovery index, sleep duration, sleep balance, sleep regularity, previous day activity, and activity balance. Apple Health has no concept of any of these composite scores. When you rely on Apple Health, your coaching app sees raw heart rate and sleep stages but has no visibility into the higher-level recovery intelligence that Oura already computed for you. Sync Speed Changes the Experience
The Apple Health pipeline involves multiple handoffs: ring to Oura app, Oura app to Apple Health, Apple Health to third-party app. Each handoff depends on background refresh schedules, app launch timing, and iOS power management decisions. In practice, your morning recovery data might not reach your coaching app until mid-morning or later. With direct integration, Vora receives data via webhooks the moment you sync your ring with the Oura app. Your morning health briefing reflects last night's sleep, not data from two syncs ago.
Body Temperature Is Invisible to Apple Health
Oura's nighttime skin temperature deviation is one of its most powerful metrics for detecting illness early (the UCSF TemPredict study showed wearable biosignals can flag illness 2.75 days before symptoms) and for tracking the menstrual cycle. Apple Health does not receive this data at all. Without direct integration, your coaching app has zero visibility into temperature trends. With it, Vora can flag potential illness, identify overtraining patterns, and provide more accurate cycle-phase-aware training adjustments.

Your Oura Readiness Score and its contributing factors feed directly into daily programming. Scores above 85 trigger full-volume sessions with progressive overload. Scores between 70 and 84 reduce volume while maintaining intensity. Below 60, Vora shifts to active recovery, mobility, or rest. The AI reads the why behind the score, not just the number.
Sleep-Driven Nutrition
After a night of poor deep sleep, your body needs more recovery support. Vora increases protein targets and adjusts calorie recommendations based on your actual sleep quality from Oura.
