Free Health Connect setup

Connect your health data.

There are two permissions to check: your wearable app needs to share data, and Vora needs permission to read it.

To connect Vora through Health Connect, first let your wearable’s app write the records you want to share. Then allow Vora to read those categories in Health Connect. Sync the wearable app before checking Vora.

  • Set up on your phone
  • Choose which categories to share
  • Check both apps’ permissions

Find Health Connect

On Android 14 and newer, Health Connect is part of Android settings. Search your phone’s Settings for Health Connect.

On older supported phones, you may need the Health Connect app from Google Play. Google’s setup guide lists the steps for each Android version. Work profiles are not supported.

Give both apps the right permissions

Start with a small set of records you can check, such as steps and sleep. You can change the permissions later.

  1. Sync the wearable

Open the wearable’s companion app. Confirm that the record you want has arrived there.

  2. Allow sharing from the source

In Health Connect, open App permissions and choose the companion app. Allow it to write the categories you want to share.

  3. Connect Vora

Open the Health Connect connection in Vora settings. Allow read access for the same categories when Android asks.

  4. Check one recent record

Return to Vora. Compare the date and source of a recent sleep or activity record with the original app.

Find where a missing record stops

If a record is missing from the wearable’s app, start with the wearable sync. If it is in that app but absent from Health Connect, check that app’s sharing permissions.

If it is in Health Connect but absent from Vora, check Vora’s read permissions and reopen Vora. Background and history permissions, where available, can also affect what arrives.

Some apps share only new records. Connecting today does not guarantee that all your old history will transfer.

Keep control of what you share

Use Health Connect’s app permissions to review or remove access. Turning access off stops future access through that connection; it is not the same as deleting records already imported into Vora.

Use Vora’s privacy and account controls for data you want removed from Vora.

Common questions

Why does Health Connect show data that Vora does not?

Check that Vora has permission to read that category. Also check the record date, reopen Vora, and review the sync status. Not every record type is used in every Vora view.

Does Health Connect connect directly to my watch?

No. This setup runs on your Android phone. The watch syncs to its companion app, which shares supported records with Health Connect.

Will my old health history appear?

Only if the source app shares it and your permissions allow it. Some connections begin with recent or new records.
