Wearables and health apps

Does Vora work with Health Connect?

Yes. On Android, Vora reads up to 22 types of Health Connect data, including sleep, heart rate, HRV, workouts, nutrition and weight, with the permissions you choose, and it can write the meals, water and workouts you log in Vora back to Health Connect. Health Connect is Android only, so on iPhone Vora reads Apple Health instead.

What Vora reads

  • Steps, distance and floors climbed
  • Active calories, total calories and basal metabolic rate
  • Workouts
  • Heart rate, resting heart rate and HRV
  • Sleep, including sleep stages
  • VO2 max
  • Blood oxygen, respiratory rate and body temperature
  • Blood glucose
  • Weight, body fat and lean body mass
  • Nutrition and water
  • Menstrual flow
  • If you allow them: your height for your profile, and GPS routes for your workouts

What Vora writes back

If you allow it, Vora writes the meals, water and finished workouts you log in Vora to Health Connect. Vora skips its own records when it reads, so they are not counted twice.

How to connect

  1. Install Vora from Google Play and sign in.
  2. On Android 13 or earlier, install Health Connect from Google Play first. On Android 14 and later it is already in your phone’s settings.
  3. In Vora, open Settings, then Connections, then Health Connect, and tap Connect.
  4. Allow the data types you want Vora to read. If your phone offers background access and access to past data, allow those too.
  5. Make sure each source app, such as Samsung Health or your wearable’s app, is allowed to write the same data types to Health Connect.
  6. Check a recent record in Vora. To change access later, tap Review permissions or Manage in Health Connect.

History and background sync

  • The first sync reads the last 30 days.
  • If your phone offers access to past data and you allow it, Vora imports up to a year.
  • If your phone offers background access and you allow it, along with all-day sync, Vora keeps syncing in the background. Otherwise, updates may wait until you open Vora.

Permissions and missing data

Vora syncs whatever you allow. If you turn one data type off, Vora leaves out only that metric and keeps syncing the rest.

Vora can only read what another app writes to Health Connect, and each app decides what it shares. If a record is missing, check the source app’s Health Connect settings too.
